Types of Consulting Contracts

Associated to two different types of consulting services, two different types of contracts are required to sign before the consulting services begin:

1. Service-oriented Consulting Contract:
   1. This contract certifies that the whole consulting service will be operated under existing statistical tools and techniques, and no new scientific/statistical results will be generated through this service.
   2. The results (statistical or not) from this service belong to the company and the faculty involved in this project cannot use these results without company’s further agreements or permissions.
2. Research-oriented Consulting Contract:
   1. This contract certifies that the whole consulting service will be operated under existing statistical tools and techniques when available, and new statistical methods may be developed when necessary.
   2. The new statistical results, including theories, methodologies, algorithms, software or any other forms, belong to the faculty involved in this project, and the faculty can freely publish or use these new techniques on his own will.
